Hi! My name is Camryn Cater! I am so happy to be the Youth First School Social Worker at Scott Elementary! My job is to work with students individually and in groups on a variety of topics including anger management, social skills, friendship problems, study skills, divorce adjustment, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, coping skills, home life concerns, adjusting to a new school, etc. I also make classroom presentations, make referrals to outside agencies when needed, and serve as a link between home and school.
While I work here at Scott Elementary, I am actually employed by Youth First. Youth First is a non-profit organization whose mission is “To strengthen youth and families through evidence-based programs that prevent substance abuse, promote healthy behaviors, and maximize student success.” As for a little about myself, I was born and raised here in Evansville and graduated from Memorial High School. I received both my bachelors and masters at Western Kentucky University. I am so eager to assist in providing a safe and helpful environment for the children, families, and staff members here at Scott! |
